Try to understand the following mistake in the 1972 edition of Bhagavad Gita As It Is, Chapter 2 text 20, where it wrongly includes these words-

"NOR HAVING ONCE BEEN"

These words suggest the jiva-souls have a beginning. This sentence is not in the 1983 edition of Bhagavad Gita As It Is Chapter 2 text 20.

In English "NOR HAVING ONCE BEEN" means the jiva-soul had a beginning, which is wrong because they are beginningless and endless. The jiva-souls have existed for "infinity."

Bhagavad Gita As It Is 1983 Chapter 2 text 20, correctly says the following-

"For the soul there is neither birth nor death at any time. He has not come into being, does not come into being, and will not come into being. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain." (BG Ch 2 text 20)
