The long winding road of repeated birth and death the "jiva-souls" travel down goes on for infinity. There is no beginning or no end for the jiva-soul's existence, be it in the Spiritual world or the material world.

Only the material bodily vessel the eternal individual jiva-soul is contained in, comes to an end due to the temporary nature of the material worlds, that causes all material things to be in a constant state of decay and decline.

Bhagavad Gita As It Is 1983 "correct edition," Chapter 2 text 20-

"For the soul there is neither birth nor death at any time. He has not come into being, does not come into being, and will not come into being. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain." (BG Ch 2 text 20 "correct" 1983 edition)

Note - the 1972 edition of Bhagavad Gita As It Is has the wrong translation to Chapter 2 text 20.

The 1972 edition of Bhagavad Gita As It Is Ch 2 text 20 WRONGLY says-

"NOR HAVING ONCE BEEN," 

These words indicate the jiva-souls have a beginning when infact there is no beginning or end for the jiva-soul's existence, therefore those who read the 1972 Bhagavad Gita As It Is are being mislead by this miss translation-

"For the soul there is never birth nor death. "Nor, having once been", does he ever cease to be. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing, undying and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain." (BG, Ch 2 text 20 "incorrect" translation)

The problem is, if we foolishly choose to stay in this material world we are forced to constantly change material bodies for infinity 

This is because the jiva-souls are beginningless and endless, but when covered by a material bodily vessel, that outer material covering of the jiva-soul is subject to aging and decomposition causing it to finally cease to function (called death)

Then the jiva-soul is forced from that bodily vessel to enter a new bodily vessel in the womb of a new mother.

The human form of life is extremely rare, in most cases one is forced to take birth in the lower species of life, getting a human body is very rare.

The stage for the cycle of birth and death in the material manifestation is infinity! 

Do we really understand what that infinity really means?

It means an endless cycle of birth and death in the material world.

This further means one can experience every lifetime (material bodily vessel) imaginable if they stay in the material creation long enough based on one's mistaken self centred desires.

From Elvis to Lennon to Dylan to Kennedy to Hitler and EVERYONE else! All these material bodily positions (vessels) are possible to also achieve in another time and place because the "stage" is infinity, meaning because the "jiva-souls" ALWAYS exist there is no end to what they can desire.

Therefore the jiva-souls in the body of the rich, famous and infamous, based on "their" self centred desires, will be trained up over billions and billions of life times just to get the particular material bodily vessel they have desired and deserved.

And let's face the facts, if you stay around long enough in the material creation, the combination of material elements will also become exhausted to the point the material universes will begin repeating itself.

However, the jiva-souls bodily vessels are all provided based on desire.

Now is the time to get out of this temporary decaying material world and return back home back to Godhead..^^..
