From Srimad Bhagavatam-
The first puruṣa is the Kāraṇodakaśāyī Viṣṇu. From His skin holes innumerable universes have sprung up. In each and every universe, the puruṣa enters as the Garbhodakaśāyī Viṣṇu.
He is lying within the half of the universe which is full with the water of His body. And from the navel of Garbhodakaśāyī Viṣṇu has sprung the stem of the lotus flower, the birthplace of Brahmā, who is the father of all living beings and the master of all the demigod engineers engaged in the perfect design and working of the universal order.
Within the stem of the lotus there are fourteen divisions of planetary systems, and the earthly planets are situated in the middle.
Upwards there are other, better planetary systems, and the topmost system is called Brahmaloka or Satyaloka.
Downwards from the earthly planetary system there are seven lower planetary systems inhabited by the asuras and similar other materialistic living beings.

In this verse, the description begins from the bottom because it is in the line of devotion that the Lord's bodily description should begin from His feet.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī is a recognized devotee of the Lord, and he is exactly correct in the description.
There are fourteen spheres of planetary systems within this universe.

There are fourteen spheres of planetary systems within this universe.
1 - The lower systems are called Bhūrloka.
2 - The middle systems are called Bhuvarloka.
3 - The higher planetary systems, up to Brahmaloka.

6 - the sixth, Rasātala, on the upper portion of the feet;

Thus the virāṭ form of the Lord is full of all planetary systems.
Modern enterprisers (the astronauts who travel in space) may take information from Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam that in space there are fourteen divisions of planetary systems.

Modern enterprisers (the astronauts who travel in space) may take information from Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam that in space there are fourteen divisions of planetary systems.

All these planetary systems are scattered over the complete universe, which occupies an area of two billion times two billion square miles.
The modern astronauts can travel only a few thousand miles away from the earth, and therefore their attempt to travel in the sky is something like child's play on the shore of an expansive ocean.
The three divisions of the complete planetary systems are here mentioned; fourteen are imagined by others, and that is also explained.
SB Canto 2 Ch 5 text 42, Purport:

The Lord expands Himself into three-
Viṣṇu,
Brahmā,
Śiva.
For maintenance, creation and destruction respectively.
Of the three principal agents controlling the three modes of material nature, Viṣṇu is the Almighty; even though He is within material nature for the purpose of maintenance, He is not controlled by the laws of material nature.
SB Canto 3 Ch 10 text 8, Translation:

Each layer is ten times bigger than the previous one, and the final outside layer is covered by pradhāna.

Within this egg is the universal form of Lord Hari, of whose body the fourteen planetary systems are parts.
SB Canto 4
There are six planetary systems above Bhūrloka and seven planetary systems below it. Therefore the entire universe is known as caturdaśa-bhuvana, indicating that it has fourteen different planetary systems.
SB Canto 4 Ch 20 text 35-36, Purport:
In the spiritual world, however, there is no such distinction between the body and the embodied. In the material world, distinctive features are manifested in different types of bodies in the various planets.
We have full information from the Vedic literature that in each and every planet, both material and spiritual, there are living entities of varied intelligence.

We have experience of various types of islands in the ocean, and similarly the various planets, divided into fourteen lokas, are islands in the ocean of space.

Above the Bhūloka planetary system is Bhuvarloka, and above that is Svargaloka, the heavenly planetary system.

Easy Journey to Other Planets (Book)
There are fourteen divisions of planetary systems, and although they are all different in dimension and quality, the same principle of development holds true for all.
Easy Journey to Other Planets 1:
However, the basic principle of spirit is much closer—for it functions within all living beings. When that spiritual principle is out of the material body, then the material body has no life.
Within the body of a child, for instance, the spiritual principle is present, and therefore changes take place in the body and it develops. But if the spirit leaves the body, the development stops. This law is applicable to every material object.
Matter transforms from one shape to another when it is in contact with spirit. Without spirit there is no transformation.
The entire universe develops in that way. It emanates from the energy of the Transcendence because of the spiritual force which is His, and it develops into gigantic forms like the sun, moon, earth, etc.

What is that? Ābrahma-bhuvanāl lokāḥ punar āvartino 'rjuna (BG 8.16). Ābrahma-bhuvanāl lokāḥ.
This, this universe of... They... The universe is divided into fourteen divisions of planetary system, fourteen divisions.
We are just in the middle planetary system. There are fourteen. Caturdaśa-bhuvana.
We are just in the middle planetary system. There are fourteen. Caturdaśa-bhuvana.
There are seven down and seven up. We are in the middle. So Kṛṣṇa says that ābrahma-bhuvanāl lokāḥ:
"Oh, what to speak of moon planet or sun planet or Venus, if you even enter into the highest planet, which is called Brahmaloka, still, there is birth and death, punar āvartinaḥ, repetition of birth and death, repetition of birth and death."
Punar āvartinaḥ means just like I have got this body. Now, say, I'll live eighty years. Now I am seventy-one. So after nine years I'll have to change this body. Sure. There is nobody can, by scientific process, can stay here. No. That is not allowed.

This is called Bhūrloka.
Above this, there is Bhuvarloka.
Above that, there is Janaloka.
Above that, there is Maharloka.
Above that, there is Satyaloka.
Above that, there is Brahmaloka, the highest planetary system.
Above that, there is Brahmaloka, the highest planetary system.
Similarly, down also, we have got
Tala,
Atala,
Talātala,
Vitala,
Pātāla,
Rasātala.
This information we get from Vedic literature, fourteen worlds. Each and every universe is consisting of these fourteen planetary systems, and there are innumerable universes. So that we also get information from Brahma-saṁhitā.
Yasya prabhā prabhavato jagad-aṇḍa-koṭi. Jagad-aṇḍa-koṭi (Bs. 5.40). Jagad-aṇḍa means this universe is a big, I mean to say, volume. Just like aṇḍa, egg.

Everything, every planet is just like egg. This brahmāṇḍa, this universe, is also like egg.
So there are many many, many millions of jagad-aṇḍa. And in each and every jagad-aṇḍa, koṭiṣu vasudhādi-vibhūti-bhinnam, there are innumerable planets also.
So these are the information we get from Vedic literature. If you like, you can accept. If you don't like you can reject. That is up to you.
So there are fourteen planetary systems within one universe.

So we living entities, we are wandering in different types of forms of body and in different planets. That we are... According to our karma, sometimes down, sometimes up, in this way we are wandering. Therefore śāstra says,
"Just like you are wandering in this way, your business is how to become materially happy, how to satisfy your senses. But don't do that. Don't do that."
Then? What shall I do? Tasyaiva hetoḥ.
"How to understand Kṛṣṇa, for that purpose you should endeavor."

Then how shall I eat?
"No, that eating and sleeping, the business of the body, that is already arranged. That is already arranged. You don't have to work for it."
Kālena sarvatra gabhīra-raṁhasā. Tal labhyate duḥkhavad anyataḥ sukham.

Our endeavor is to achieve happiness. That is our struggle for existence.
This universe is called fourteen different planetary systems, and we are wandering in these different planetary systems.

If we are pious, then we are promoted to the higher planetary system,
Svargaloka,
Janaloka,
Maharloka,
Tapoloka,
Brahmaloka,
Satyaloka.
Lecture on SB Canto 3 Ch 25 text 22, Bombay, November 22, 1974:
Caitanya Mahāprabhu says to Rūpa Gosvāmī that we are wandering in this way, brahmāṇḍa, whole universe.

Caitanya Mahāprabhu says to Rūpa Gosvāmī that we are wandering in this way, brahmāṇḍa, whole universe.
There are different types, or forms, of body, 8,400,000.
And there are millions and trillions of planets, up and down.
And there are millions and trillions of planets, up and down.
Oṁ bhūr... Bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ.
Bhūrloka,
Bhuvarloka,
Svarloka,
Janaloka,
Maharloka,
Tapoloka.
Then
Tala,
Atala,
Vitala,
Pātāla,
Rasātala.
There are so many planetary systems. Caturdaśa-bhuvana.

There are so many... Siddhaloka.

And if we are impious, then we are downtrodden. We go down more and more. Ūrdhvaṁ gacchanti sattva-sthāḥ (BG 14.18).
If you are situated in sattva-guṇa, then you are promoted to the higher planetary system: adho gacchanti tāmasāḥ. Jaghanya-guṇa-vṛtti-sthā adho gacchanti tāmasāḥ.
If you are infected with tamo-guṇa, then you go down, down, down, down. Madhye tiṣṭhanti rājasāḥ.
If you are infected with tamo-guṇa, then you go down, down, down, down. Madhye tiṣṭhanti rājasāḥ.
And if we are infected by the modes of passion, then we keep ourselves in the middle.
But Kṛṣṇa says in the Bhagavad-gītā, ābrahma-bhuvanāl lokāḥ punar āvartino 'rjuna (BG 8.16).
But Kṛṣṇa says in the Bhagavad-gītā, ābrahma-bhuvanāl lokāḥ punar āvartino 'rjuna (BG 8.16).
Even if you go to the highest planetary system—it is called Brahmaloka—where the duration of life is very, very long... That is described in the Bhagavad-gītā:
sahasra-yuga-paryantam ahar yad brahmaṇo viduḥ (BG 8.17).

Lecture on CC Madhya-lila 20.281-293 - New York, December 18, 1966:
This is Viṣṇu, the Viṣṇu which entered each universe, from His perspiration He created this water. And He laid down on the water.
Lecture on CC Madhya-lila 20.281-293 - New York, December 18, 1966:
This is called Śeṣaśāyī Viṣṇu or Garbhodakaśāyī Viṣṇu. Tāṅra nābhi-padma haite uṭhila eka padma:
"And then He created one lotus flower from His navel." You have seen that picture in the title page, title cover. Nābhi-padma. Sei padme ha-ila brahmāra janma-sadma:
"And from that lotus flower, on that lotus flower, the Brahmā, the first created being, was manifested."
sei padma-nāle ha-ila caudda bhuvanateṅho 'brahmā' hañā sṛṣṭi karila sṛjana
And this Brahmā is a living being, jīva-tattva. He is not Viṣṇu-tattva. Just see how much a living being can be powerful.
''Now, Brahmā was created by this Garbhodakaśāyī Viṣṇu, and Brahmā in his turn, he created all these planetary systems."

We cannot see other material universes (Brahmandas) outside our own individual universe, because of the 7 material layers of the outer Brahmanda surrounding our inner material universe, everything we see is within this one universe.
In Srimad Bhagavatam Canto 5 Chapter 21 Text 11 Purport-
Srila Prabhupada - "Each universe is covered by various layers of material elements (the surrounding Brahmanda our universe is deep within), and therefore we cannot see from one universe to another."
The Painting below shows unlimited Brahmanda's each with their own universe deep within each Brahmanda."
Srila Prabhupada - "In other words, whatever we see is within this one universe. In each universe there is one Lord Brahmā, and there are other demigods on other planets, and there is only one sun."*
